Sep 08 - Gibraltar Scholars Receive Their Awards
This year’s eight Gibraltar Scholars received their awards in a ceremony held at Bleak House this morning.
Daniel Licudi received the Distinction Award for receiving three or more A* grades in his A-Levels, and Nilesh Chhatwani, Timothy Canessa, Shannon Feetham, Kieron Martinez, Francesca Makey, Simran Chhugani and Elisheva Bitan were all given the Merit Award for achieve three As or more for their A-Levels.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister for Education, Gilbert Licudi, said: “Congratulations to all of you, this is something that you have worked very hard to achieve.
“Talent and intelligence on its own doesn’t result in the sort of results that you have been able to achieve, clearly it requires dedication, hard work and commitment.”
His advice for the students who will be embarking on a new adventure was to make the most of university life and experience everything university life has to offer, including their chosen course.
