Battle Of Trafalgar Remembrance Service – Traffic Plan

Please note that due to the Battle of Trafalgar Remembrance Service tomorrow morning (Friday 18th) at Trafalgar Cemetery, the RGP will be putting a number of parking restrictions and minor traffic diversions in place.
A statement from the RGP follows below:
The UK holds the ceremony once a year, to celebrate when Admiral Lord Nelson
defeated the combined Navies of France and Spain at the Battle of Trafalgar on the
Spanish coast.
Parking Restrictions – 9pm today until 10:40am tomorrow
•Trafalgar Hill, including the taxi rank, bus stop and loading bay.
•Entrance to Prince Edward’s Road by rear of Trafalgar Cemetery.
•Outside the old Queen’s Cinema.
•Exit to Grand Parade Car Park.
Road Closure
Trafalgar Hill into Main Street will be closed to all traffic from opposite the rear of the Trafalgar Sports Bar to Referendum Gates from approximately 9am to 10:40am tomorrow.
Traffic heading south along Line Wall Road by Ince’s Hall will be stopped for a few minutes to allow for the laying of wreaths at the Admiral Lord Nelson statue.
Diversion
During the ceremony, traffic coming down Europa Road that wishes to head towards Main Street must do so using the Trafalgar Roundabout.
