Jul 18 - Power Cut Update
18 July 2014
Following from this morning’s power cut caused by construction works along North Mole Road, GibElec has this afternoon announced that the works involved the laying of electrical ducts for the new power station. The fault was caused when a High Voltage cable opposite Waterport Place was damaged.
This High Voltage cable feeds the transformers that supplies the low voltage supply to the new generator and turbines. The damage cut off the supply and caused the black out.
GibElec went on to apologise to its customers for the inconvenience caused.
