Apr 15 - ERG Presents Appreciation Bouquet
Equality Rights Group Chairman Felix Alvarez and Secretary Charles Trico last week presented an appreciation bouquet to the Minister for Equality “in thanks and sincere recognition of the committed work towards equality and human rights which she has and continues to exert for the community.”
A spokesperson for the group said: “Sorting out long-standing inequalities is no easy task. A lot of grind has to go on behind the scenes by a Minister, and this can often prove frustrating. Determination and commitment on the part of Government, as well as the on-going input and dialogue with independent civil society groups is not only the best, democratic way to take that forward, but also the most efficient.
“At grass roots level, civil society is in touch with the issues because it is we and the people we work with who have the most intimate understanding and expertise. We are thankful for the fact that the Minister is not only willing but able to tap into that resource, and is committed to continuing the hard slog of addressing issues which are still pending, and which must still be resolved.
“The bouquet is simply a very small token for the big difference her work is already making in people’s lives across this community.”
