Sep 26 - Recycling Bins for Electronic Equipment Implemented
26 September 2013
The Department of the Environment is expanding Government’s kerbside recycling service to include Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) bins. The bins will be placed next to existing recycling bins at Cloister Ramp, Moorish Castle Estate, Devil’s Tower Road, Waterport Road, Williams Way Catalan Bay and Rosia Road.
The bins will be ready for use as from tomorrow. The items that members of the public can deposit here are small items of WEEE, such as toasters, kettles, computers, monitors, calculators etc.
These bins will be serviced on a regular basis. The items collected from these bins are taken to an authorised recycling centre where certain parts of items are re-used or recycled, reducing waste and Gibraltar's carbon footprint.
