Jul 29 - Daily Mail Frontier Queue Report in Most Read News
The Daily Mail yesterday published a detailed report of this weekend’s extensive frontier queues, highlighting recent incidents that are said to be the cause of the 7-hour tailbacks.
The article, written by Damian Gayle noted that Saturday was ‘the second day that border guards had blocked links to the mainland, in a move that seemed calculated to bring Gibraltar to a standstill.’
The piece also highlights former instances of conflict between Gibraltar and Spain and a number of facts about the Territory. Much interest into the matter has stemmed from the article, which boasts almost 3000 shares and 1,545 comments. Many commenters are supportive of Gibraltar’s attempt to gain assistance from the UK Government and critical of Spain’s behaviour, with the top rated comment highlighting that Spain is an EU member and so should be ‘sorted out’ by the EU.
The article now features under the Mail Online's 'Most Read News' section.
