June 21 - Minister Sacramento Holds Rehabilitation Services Meetings In London
The Minister for Social Services, Samantha Sacramento, has returned from meetings in London in connection with the review of the substance abuse rehabilitation services provided by the Care Agency. The visit was aimed at obtaining information on the latest proven methods of good practice so as to introduce them locally under the current review of the service.
The Minister met with a provider of a wide range of community-based services for people suffering from drug or alcohol related problems, held meetings with its Chief Executive and management and was also invited to site meetings at outreach facilities where she was able to meet key members of staff.
Ms Sacramento was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of the Care Agency, Albert Bruzon, and the Team Leader with responsibility for Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services, John Montegriffo.
“As Minister with responsibility for drug rehabilitation, I am keen to ensure that the services we provide locally are effective and accessible. Last year, I introduced the provision of outreach services in the community to compliment the service provided by Bruce’s Farm with a view to make rehabilitation available to as many people as possible” stated Samantha Sacramento.
