June 05 - Mayor at Buckingham Palace Garden Party
The Mayor, Anthony Lima, travelled to London yesterday to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace with his wife. His Worship considers it a particular privilege to have been invited to this Royal Garden Party as it falls within the week when we commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s Coronation sixty years ago.
His Worship is also honoured at having been asked by The Commanding Officer of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Colin Risso MC to be the Reviewing Officer at a 21Gun Royal Salute fired from Grand Battery by HQ Company (Thomson’s Battery), in commemoration of Her Majesty’s Coronation.
In a letter to the Commanding Officer, His Worship has thanked Lieutenant Colonel Risso for his fine gesture and has congratulated the Gun Position Officer, Major Gerald Fitzgerald and the Gun Crews for what was an immaculate turnout and a most impressive, perfectly executed Gun Salute.
