Soldiers from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment returned home yesterday following a month long exercise in the UK.
The exercise know as Jebel Tarik is held annually in Brecon, Wales and is a mandated training camp which qualifies both Regular and TA Soldiers on all weapon systems. The exercise conducts live firing training but there is also plenty of conventional dry training using blank ammunition.
Major David King was the officer in charge of the exercise was pleased with how well the exercise went but more so that morale remained high throughout.
A 72 hour section competition to test how quickly the patrols can move long distance was won by Cpl Chris Milliken’s team; in recognition of their effort they will be awarded the Momy Levy Trophy.
