Mar 12 - GPA Survey Reveals Public are Most Concerned with Drug Use and Underage Drinking
The results of the Gibraltar Police Authority’s Public Consultation Survey for 2012 and 2013 have bee published by the authority and can be found on the website at www.gpa.gi. Almost one thousand completed questionnaires were received from a wide cross section of the community.
It is noted that the public’s overall satisfaction of the service provided by the RGP remains high and that almost two-thirds of the respondents agreed with the priorities as set out in the GPA Annual Policing Plan 2011-12.
The Authority adds, with interest, that Supply and Misuse of Drug together with Under Age Drinking continue to be the two main concerns for the community. Respondents also expressed positive comments on the new Neighbourhood Policing initiative introduced by Commissioner Yome and the use of social media in communicating with the public. However the community still express a desire for more police presence on our streets, especially at night in the hope that this will curtail Anti-Social Behaviour.
The Authority will now take account of the results of the survey and comments from the questionnaire in drawing up the Gibraltar Policing Plan for 2013-14. The GPA would like to take this opportunity to thank all those members of the community who took the time to fill in the questionnaire.
