Mar 06 - Ben Makes Just Giving Awards Finals
Last Summer, 8 year old Ben Donohue, who lives in Gibraltar with his family, carried out a 5 mile swim to raise funds for the Neuroblastoma Children’s Cancer Alliance and critically ill 6 year old, Jamie Inglis. . Sadly Jamie lost his battle with Neuroblastoma in January this year.
The event raised over £9000 towards pioneering treatment from both online and offline donations. Ben was nominated for the ‘Young Fundraiser of the Year’ category for the Just Giving Awards 2013, by WO1 Tony Gaul and WO2 Rob Records who also ran a marathon for the charity event.
Ben has been shortlisted from 700 nominees, and is currently one of four finalists. The award ceremony is set to take place in London on the 11th April. Just Giving is the UK’s largest online fundraising community with over 9000 registered charities.
