Following the testing of a number of samples of beef products currently on sale in Gibraltar, for the presence of horse DNA, the Environmental Agency has noted that the results have been found to be negative. The analysis was commissioned following the on going scandal in the UK, that has seen a number of products sold in Supermarkets contain horse meat. The test included samples from a number of wholesalers in Gibraltar.

The Agency added that it will continue to monitor current developments and will take further samples if considered necessary.
