Feb 18 - Vinetrust Cake Sale Success
Vine Trust Gibraltar held an extremely successful cake sale on Saturday that saw the charity raise over £250. The team has thanked all volunteers who provided them with cookies, cakes and shortbread to sell, as well as all customers.
The cakes were provided by members of the work party going out to Tanzania in October, the congregation of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and other supporters. Several people gave just monetary donations as they have 'given up cakes for Lent'.
All the money raised will go towards building materials for children’s homes in Moshi, Tanzania. The volunteers from Gibraltar aim to provide orphans there with a safe place to live, food, clothes, an education, and above all, hope for the future.
Commenting on the event, stall organizer, Jane Jacobson noted, ‘all of us who were there manning the stall and handing out flyers along Main Street would like to express our deepest appreciation for the growing interest in, and support that Vine Trust is getting here in Gibraltar.’
