Feb 08 - Ambulance Donation to Moroccan Red Crescent
The donation of a GHA ambulance was made this morning to the Red Crescent, based in Moroccan city Chefchaouen. The Red Crescent’s Provincial Committee made a request for assistance recently. The city is situated in the Rif Mountains and has a population of just over 35,000 people.
The ambulance was handed over by Minister for Health Dr. Cortes, to Red Crescent’s Gibraltar representative, Mr. M’Hammad Moujauil.
The Gibraltar Government is looking at other ways to assist the Health Services in this region with the possibility of further donations of de-commissioned medical equipment as these become available.
The GHA is expecting five new ambulances to add to their fleet, this year.
Mr. Moujauil commented how grateful he was to Dr. Cortes and the GHA, for their gesture.
