Dec 03 - 'Winter Party In Town' To Take Place Saturday 15th December
The Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce will once again be organising “Winter Party in Town’ on Saturday 15th December.
A spokesperson for the event said: "The event previously headlined by “Boney M” (Maizie Williams) in 2014, “Remember Queen Tribute” in 2016 and ABBA GOLD last year, is proving to be a huge success, This year the event will be topped by internationally renowned top 90’s Original act CORONA better known as the Queen of Dance supported by one of Europe’s best musical tribute to The King Of Pop ‘MJ’ is MICHAEL LEGEND on Tour an amazing 2 hour musical live band tribute to one of the best bands in the world. The show includes a fantastic set up production with constant videos of Michael Jackson video clips via a gigantic LED Screen.
"This year the main event will be ‘remembering the 90’s’ theme and will be returning to Casemates Square, kicking off at 4.00pm, once again the event has been carefully designed to make it a family day event for all to enjoy.
"The event will also host local upcoming four piece band ’24 SEVEN’, the band has performed at our local May Day celebrations and Gibraltar Fair. They will play covers of the 80’s & 90s.
"Local young upcoming DJ Anthony Byrne and Local veterans DJ’s No Limit Entertainment will be playing the anthems of the 90’s.
"This year we will have the Gibraltar Sea Scouts Pipe Band on stage playing a set of xmas carols. Yalta Dance Studio and Danza Academy will also have dance performances. A variety of traditional activities will also be on offer for the younger crowd including face-painting, bouncy castles and special appearances by various Disney and Marvel/DC characters.
"Santa will also be at the event meeting and greeting everyone in the Santa’s Grotto as from 4.30pm. Santa will take your Christmas wish list letters and will make sure that all presents arrive on time.
"Food and drink sampling stall will also be available all along the event.
"Both Ministries would like to thank all the private sponsors for supporting this year’s event and kindly invite the general public to attend in large numbers as in previous editions and enjoy this pre-Christmas family day event."
