May 23 - Gibraltar Heritage Trust Announces Painting And Sketching Competition Winners
On Saturday 19th May, the Gibraltar Heritage Trust held their Painting and Sketching Competition.
The Painting and Sketching Competition has been a Trust annual event since 1991, with participation ranging from of a wide spectrum of Gibraltar's community.
This year’s theme was Irish Town.
A spokesperson said: "The aim of the competition has always been to encourage participants to take a closer look at the heritage that surrounds them on a daily basis and reproduce it through artistic media."
All artwork entries from this year’s competition will be on display at the John Mackintosh Hall. The gallery will be open from 10am to 6pm, except Friday when the exhibition will close at 1pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

2nd Prize – Vera Estella
3rd Prize – Sophia Povedano
Highly commended – Kate Piner and Matthieu Busto

1st Prize – Sinead Desoiza
2nd Prize – Matthew Bossano
3rd Prize – Shelli Abudarham
Highly commended – Lauren Guy
Senior Section
1st Prize – Wanda Bush
2nd Prize – Vin Mifsud
3rd Prize – Lorraine Buhagiar
Highly Commended – Lorraine Povedano & Geraldine Martinez
