Jun 21 - Valerie Makey Steps Down As Girlguiding Commissioner

Valerie Makey has stepped down as Commissioner of Girlguiding Gibraltar after six years. She received the Good Service award from outgoing UK Branch advisor Anne Llewelyn Jones in a reception held at Grand Battery House last week.
Ambassador for Girlguiding Gibraltar and Minister for Equality Samantha Sacramento attended and, in her speech praised the work done by Girlguiding locally on empowering young women and how the movement had developed in recent years with important issues such as safeguarding and vetting.
President Mrs Lorraine Davis thanked Valerie for her visionary leadership and selfless dedication to Girlguiding Gibraltar and welcomed Marie Bocarisa as new Commissioner and offered her her full support during her tenure.
