May 23 - Football Stars Speak To Prospective Foster Parents
After coaching nearly 200 youngsters and featuring in hundreds of photographs with the youngsters' parents on Saturday morning, retired Liverpool star Mark Wright, Kenny Sansom and David May, accompanied by Mark's wife Sue, then spoke to around twenty prospective foster parents and adopters.
After being introduced by Minister for Social Services, Samantha Sacramento, Mark Wright spoke passionately and emotionally about his experiences of fostering. A father of four himself, Mark has fostered four more children, one of whom the couple adopted. Social workers from the Care Agency were also on hand to offer advice from a local perspective.
Mark and Sue said they were utterly committed, not only to the fostering and adoption process but also to making people aware of the need for more people to fulfill this vital role.
