May 20 - Premier Legends Tournament Held On The Rock Over The Weekend
Mark Wright former Captain of Liverpool FC and England was joined by football stars Dennis Wise (Chelsea), Neville Southall (Everton FC and Wales), Kenny Sansom (Arsenal and England) and David May (Manchester United) at the all star Premier Legends Tournament held in Gibraltar today.
Today’s event saw top companies across Gibraltar, including sponsors Grand Home Care, Bet Victor and EY, compete against each other in a 5-a-side tournament while being coached by the legends.
The football events held various in countries across the world, including China, is to help raise awareness of fostering and adoption.
The winning team will then play against the Legends in the final at Victoria Stadium. A dinner with the Legends and the teams will then be held at the Sunborn Hotel Friday evening.
As for tomorrow’s event, nearly 200 children from across Gibraltar will take part in a once in a life-time opportunity to be coached in an exclusive Academy Training session again at the Victoria Stadium.
Mark said: “The two-day event is very exciting for us - we are looking forward to welcoming the Corporates and the Children to their respective days - all the Legends are really looking forward to it too.”

Dennis, whose illustrious career includes Leicester, Chelsea and England, said: “I’m delighted to be able to join Mark and the Premier Legends team in Gibraltar - I still enjoy a competitive game of football and I really enjoy coaching kids - to be able to give something back to enthusiastic kids and maybe even help them along a career in football is massive for me.”
Artur Wasowicz, of Grand Home Care, added: “We are very proud to be part of this event GHC as a company works hard to ensure the welfare of children across Gibraltar and we are also supportive of a number of children's charities - and this is an amazing opportunity for children to be given a positive memory in their lives.”
