Jan 14 - Dead Filipino Seaman Had Malaria

Following the death of a Filipino seaman on Sunday evening, samples were collected and sent for testing in a major UK laboratory.
The Government has received a verbal communication to the effect that only the test for malaria has proved positive.
While written confirmation is expected shortly the Government says it is releasing this information in order to allay concerns that have been expressed by some sectors of the community.
