The Liberal Democrat manifesto for the European elections includes a commitment to Gibraltar.

The manifesto pledges to support the rights of the people of Gibraltar in Europe and their right to self-determination.

The manifesto also makes the point that these are the only elections where Liberal Democrat representatives can be elected for Gibraltar. It recalls that 67% voted Liberal Democrat in 2014.

Gibraltarian candidate Luke Stagnetto, who is standing for election with the Liberal Democrats, said:

“I am delighted that the Liberal Democrats have renewed their manifesto commitment to defend the EU rights of the people of Gibraltar and our right to self-determination.”

The manifesto says the following on Page 9.

“These are the only elections where Liberal Democrat representatives can be elected for GIBRALTAR - as part of the South West region. The
people of GIBRALTAR voted overwhelmingly for the Liberal Democrats in the 2014 European elections (67%) and we pledge to continue to support their rights in Europe and to selfdetermination.”
