Jul 08 - Chief Minister Meets ASCTEG
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, held a meeting with the Association of Spanish Workers in Gibraltar, ASCTEG, at No. 6 Convent Place this morning.
The Association’s Committee expressed its concerns at the implications of BREXIT for its members, Gibraltar and the Campo Area. ASCTEG gave the Chief Minister details of its recent activities and meetings in support of maintaining a free flow at the frontier to safeguard Gibraltar’s economy and jobs for its members.
The main concern of all parties present was the threatening attitude of the present caretaker Spanish Government.
For his part, the Chief Minister gave assurances that the Government would continue providing normality at the frontier so that jobs would be safeguarded. It was agreed to continue contact as the new political situation developed.
