Miss Gibraltar 2014, accompanied by her two Princesses, Kristy Torres and Claire Nuñez, has been up the Rock to get to know the macaques a little better and to see them in their natural environment away from the usual tourist hotspots. Their guide was Brian Gomila of ‘Monkey Talk’.

The macaques are synonymous with the Rock and often feature in conversations about Gibraltar and so it will be useful for Shyanne, Kristy and Claire to have this first-hand knowledge of our famous ‘Rock Apes’ when they represent Gibraltar abroad.

After her visit, Shyanne wrote “Experiencing the macaques in this way has certainly changed my perceptions of them” on her Facebook account.
