Jun 27 - Man Arrested Boarding Tangier Ferry In Stolen Vehicle
27 June 2016
In connection with an ongoing RGP Special Branch investigation into the trafficking of stolen vehicles from Spain to Morocco, a 29-year-old Spanish national Nasar Houda Houda, a resident of Algeciras, was on Saturday charged with one count of Handling Stolen Goods.
The charge follows Houda’s arrest on Friday evening at North Mole, when he was challenged by a Special Branch officer whilst in the process of boarding a ferry bound for Tangier, Morocco. At the time, Houda was driving a vehicle displaying Spanish registration plates.
Enquiries have confirmed the vehicle to have been stolen in the area of Madrid earlier this week.
Houda remains in Police custody, and will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court later this morning.
