May 23 - Albanian Man Charged With Immigration Offences

A 37-year-old Albanian National, Alfred Lleshi, of no fixed place of abode, has been arrested and charged for being in Gibraltar without a valid permit or certificate as well as for the possession of a forged passport.
The arrest came about after Borders and Coastguard Agency officers challenged the authenticity of Lleshi’s Bulgarian passport which he was attempting to use to board a flight to the United Kingdom on Saturday morning.
Following Lleshi’s arrest and interview by Police, he was charged and detained in Police custody until his appearance before the Magistrates’ Court today.
