The Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, has offered his most sincere congratulations to Megan Ruiz and Macy Cornelio, on their recent success at the British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships. Megan achieved silver medal in the U17 female synchronised team and bronze in the Under 17 female individual class. Macy achieved bronze in the K1 cadet female synchronized teams’ event. The Government says that this once again highlights the calibre, commitment and dedication of Gibraltar sportswomen.

Minister Linares would also like to wish the Gibraltar’s Amateur Athletics Association all the best in their participation in the European Athletics Indoor Championships to be held in Prague from the 6th – 8th March. Athlete Sean Peñalver will be participating in the 60m event and will be accompanied by Louis Chichon as Official. GAAA’s President Frank Carreras will also be travelling and will be attending a series of meeting regarding the elections for the presidency of European Athletics.
